Häufige Fragen zu diesem Produkt
Our gear racks are available in various modules covering applications from precision mechanics to heavy-duty mechanical engineering. The module determines the tooth size and therefore the transmittable force. All gear racks are manufactured with a standard pressure angle of 20°. The exact available modules can be found in our gear rack catalog.
Our gear racks are available in various materials: steel (C45, 42CrMo4) for high loads and durability, stainless steel for corrosive environments and food industry applications, and plastic for lightweight, lubrication-free and low-noise applications. The choice of material affects load capacity, wear resistance and the application range.
Yes, we offer gear racks in both unhardened and hardened versions. Induction-hardened gear racks (typically 50-55 HRC tooth flank) offer significantly higher wear resistance and load capacity while featuring a ground tooth profile. These versions are especially suitable for highly dynamic applications such as CNC gantry machines and automation systems.
As standard, we offer gear racks in lengths from 250 mm to 2,000 mm. For longer travel distances, multiple gear racks can be connected via precision butt joints, with the tooth profile precisely matched. Special lengths and customer-specific cuts are also possible on request.
For long travel distances we offer gear racks with calibrated butt joints that allow seamless connection of multiple racks. The tooth profiles are matched so that no offset occurs at the joint. Fastening is typically done via bores or dowel pins on the underside of the rack. We are happy to advise on the optimal joining technique.
Our gear racks are available in various accuracy classes per DIN and ISO standards. The accuracy class determines the permissible pitch errors and profile deviations. For standard mechanical engineering applications we recommend quality 8–10; for precision applications, ground gear racks in quality 5–7 are available.
Gear rack lubrication is generally done using grease or oil lubrication at the tooth mesh. For open rack-and-pinion drives we recommend adhesive lubricants that do not drip even when mounted vertically. Automatic lubrication systems can be integrated for low-maintenance continuous-duty applications. Plastic gear racks generally require no additional lubrication.
