Beta: This statement is a draft. It applies to the TEA Academy pages, not to the rest of the website.
What this statement applies to
Technische Antriebselemente GmbH wants everyone to be able to use the TEA Academy. The TEA Academy is an online learning program on drive and linear technology: learning units with text, illustrations, and calculation exercises; self-tests; flashcards; and an online exam with a certificate. This statement describes how well this is currently being achieved and where barriers still exist.
Accessibility Status
The standard is the European standard EN 301 549. For websites, it refers to the WCAG 2.1 guidelines, Level AA. The TEA Academy partially meets these requirements. This is based on an internal audit, most recently conducted in September 2026: keyboard-only operation, enlarged font, light and dark modes, the operating system’s contrast mode, and functionality without JavaScript and printing. An audit by an independent body has not yet taken place.
This has been implemented
- All functions can be operated using the keyboard. The focus is always visible.
- You can never tell right from wrong based on color alone; you must always look at the symbols and text as well.
- Buttons and selection fields are at least 44 pixels in size.
- Figures and diagrams are accompanied by text descriptions. Diagrams also include a data table.
- Responses to answers are read aloud by screen readers.
- In the exam, you can select a time extension before starting. It will not appear on the certificate or in the verification report.
- There is no flashing content and no continuous animations.
- The course content is accessible even without JavaScript.
This is not yet accessible.
- Some technical sketches do not adjust their colors in the operating system’s high-contrast mode. A text description is provided.
- Formulas appear as text within the body of the text. Markup for screen readers (MathML) is still missing. As a result, long formulas may be difficult to understand when read aloud.
- Self-tests, flashcards, calculation exercises, and the exam require JavaScript.
- There is no version in easy-to-read language or in German Sign Language.
- Linked pages outside the TEA Academy—such as guides, calculators, and PDF catalogs—have not been reviewed according to these standards.
- Screen readers have only been tested on a random basis so far.
