Roller Guides: Technology, Service Life & Maintenance

Roller Guides: High Load Capacity Through Line Contact

Roller guides transmit loads via cylindrical rolling elements that do not roll in point contact but in line contact along the raceway surface. This contact geometry distributes force over a larger area and enables significantly higher load capacities and greater system rigidity compared to ball-guided systems — especially under shock or heavy loads.

In this cluster you will find all the relevant guides on roller guides: from the fundamentals of the technology and design variants through service life calculation to L10, all the way to maintenance and lubrication in operation. Comparison articles also show when a roller guide outperforms a ball guide — and when it does not.
