DIFFERENTIATION

Why LinRol?

LinRol offers features that are rarely found together on the market—our brand, proven over many years, is manufactured and designed in Hamburg.

LinRol — our brand from Hamburg

Short supply chains, direct contact, and full control over quality and availability. Design, manufacturing, and final inspection in Hamburg—with no middlemen.

Stainless Steel & Sanitary Models

Stainless steel guide rails and rollers for food, pharmaceutical, and chemical environments. Corrosion-resistant and easy to clean—suitable for hygienic applications.

Lubricant-free by default

For sensitive environments where lubricant contamination is unacceptable. The lubricant-free LinRol standard version enables clean operation in food, cleanroom, and pharmaceutical applications. The RK90 guide roller is available in a centric (fixed-axis) and an eccentric version—the preload is adjusted via the eccentric roller: backlash-free and without disassembly.

Custom lengths available upon request

Custom rail lengths, custom hole patterns, and mounting options. No compromises when integrating into existing machine designs.

Fast delivery

Standard sizes in stock in Hamburg. Immediate availability minimizes your procurement risks and inventory costs.

High load capacity & long service life

Up to 3.5 kN per individual roller; the complete 4-roller 90° system achieves system values of 6,400 N (F) / 7,000 N (R). LinRolHD heavy-duty series: up to 63,600 N. Lifetime-lubricated, maintenance-free. Detailed load diagrams in the Catalog ↗.

APPLICATIONS

LinRol in action

Roller guide systems for regulated and demanding environments.

Food & Pharmaceuticals

In the food and pharmaceutical industries, lubricant-free drive systems are mandatory. LinRol stainless steel systems with a lubricant-free option meet the hygiene requirements for conveyor belts, filling lines, and processing machines. They are corrosion-resistant to cleaning agents and disinfectants.

Discuss requirements →

Packaging Technology

Packaging machines operate at high cycle rates and place high demands on guide systems in terms of robustness, resistance to contamination, and low-maintenance operation. LinRol systems stand out for their easy installation, ability to run dry, and long maintenance intervals during continuous operation.

Discuss requirements →

Woodworking & Sawing Technology

Dust, wood chips, and mechanical stress are common in woodworking machinery. LinRol guide systems are resistant to dust particles and do not require elaborate sealing. They are used in feed systems, CNC gantries, and saw carriages for the woodworking industry.

Discuss requirements →

Cleanroom & Semiconductor Technology

Cleanroom applications require low-particle guidance systems that do not release outgassing from lubricants or auxiliary materials. For cleanroom use, the lubricant-free LinRol version made of stainless steel is generally available upon request. Applications include wafer handling, optical systems, and laboratory automation.

How the LinRol roller guide works Operating principle, technical diagram & animations (V-groove, backlash-free preload)
HOW IT WORKS

How the LinRol roller guide works

V-groove rail and guide rollers in a 90° profile — axial (Fa) and radial (Fr) forces are absorbed simultaneously.

Technical Diagram: LinRol 90° Roller Guide — Cross-Section. Rail (BS90X) with outward-facing 90° V-shaped running edges on the left and right. Each guide roller (RK90-E) consists of two discs; the V-shaped running edge of the rail engages in the gap between the discs. Fr = radial load (vertical, from above). Fa = axial load (horizontal/lateral, in the plane of the image). Cross-section of a LinRol 90° roller guide: In the center is the BS90X rail, which features a 90° V-shaped tip (hardened running edge) on each side, facing outward. On the left and right, there is one RK90-E guide roller each, consisting of two adjacent discs—between which there is a V-shaped gap. The V-tip of the rail fits precisely into this gap; the 45° inner flanks of the discs rest against the 45° flanks of the rail’s V-edge. Fr (red, vertical arrow from above) = radial load perpendicular to the guide. Fa (blue, horizontal arrow from the left) = axial load lateral/sideways in the image plane, transverse to the rail. Small ⊗ symbol explained: The travel direction points into the image plane and is not the load-bearing direction. Support plate (Mounting surface) Rail (BS90X) 90° 90° V-contact leadership role (RK90-E) two slices 90° V-contact F r radial load (vertical / normal) F a axial load (sideways / lateral) perpendicular to the rail in the image plane Direction of travel (Motion — vertical relative to the image plane, (no grain direction) Cross-section — LinRol 90° system (schematic, not to scale) Legend: Load directions: Fr = radial load — perpendicular to the guide (vertical in the image plane) Fa = axial load — lateral, perpendicular to the rail (horizontal in the image plane) —— = 90° V-shaped contact edges (45° + 45°): The inner edges of the disc rest against the V-shaped edge of the rail = Direction of travel (movement perpendicular to the image plane — not the static direction of support)

Core principle: The rail (BS90X) has an outward-facing 90° V-edge. The guide rail (RK90-E) consists of two slices — The V-shaped tip of the rail fits precisely into the gap between the panes. The 45° inner edges of the panes rest against the 45° edges of the rail’s V-shaped edge. In this way, the system both Fr (radial load, perpendicular) as well as Fa (axial load, lateral) via the same 45° contact surfaces—without a separate counter-guide. The Direction of travel (movement in the longitudinal direction of the rail) is perpendicular to the image plane and is none Direction of travel.

ANIMATION — LINEAR MOTION
Animation: LinRol Linear Guide — Rolling Linear Motion Side view of a LinRol guide. A horizontal rail in the center. A carrier plate with four guide rollers (2×2 arrangement: two at the front and two at the rear) moves back and forth with minimal friction. The rollers rotate in the direction of movement. Rail (BS90X) The cart encloses the rollers 4 wheels (2×2): front + rear, on each side Rolling linear motion — low friction, preloaded with zero backlash

Linear motion: The carriage encloses the four rollers (2×2 arrangement) and moves smoothly along the rail— only the lower section of the rollers, which runs on the rail, remains visible. The rollers rotate with the carriage—no sliding, no frictional heat, long service life.

ANIMATION — PRE-ROLL AD
Animation: Frictionless preload of the LinRol — concentric and eccentric RK90 roller in profile Side view: In the center is the rail with outward-facing V-shaped running edges. On the left is a centered guide roller with a fixed, centered axle; on the right is an eccentric roller. In both cases, the pin runs through the center of the two discs. A hex on the carrier plate above the right roller turns the eccentric bolt—the right roller moves toward the rail, closing the visible gap: backlash-free preload without disassembly. Support plate Rail central role fixed axle · center-mounted bolt eccentric role tensionable · bolt through the roller SW Hex wrench (adjustment wrench) Gap Backlash-free / preloaded — Adjustment without disassembly

Backlash-free preload: On both rollers, the pin runs through the center of the two discs. The left roller is centered (fixed axis), while the right one is offset: A hexagon on the mounting plate rotates the offset bolt—the roller moves toward the V-shaped edge of the track, closing the gap. No disassembly, no need to buy replacement parts — The play allowance can be adjusted directly on the built-in system.

What does this mean for you?

  • The V-groove principle combines guidance and force absorption in a single roller-rail system—requiring fewer components than a rail plus a separate guide.
  • Reduced procurement and installation costs: a single system order instead of multiple components, and simplified inventory management thanks to standardized sizes.
  • Lubricant-free versions reduce maintenance intervals and eliminate the need to reorder lubricants in hygiene-sensitive processes.
