For the design, this means less control cabinet space, shorter wiring runs, and a significantly simpler setup compared to the traditional separation of motor and controller. We carry the MAC (servo) and MIS/ServoStep (stepper) series and will work with you to select the right configuration.

What the integrated design actually changes
In a conventional servo drive, the controller and motor are separate, connected via shielded power and encoder cables. With JVL, the electronics are integrated into the motor. This eliminates the need for a controller in the control cabinet, the encoder cable, and a large part of the shielding issues—the connection is essentially reduced to the power supply and the bus.
Fieldbus and Control Environment
The motors are available for common industrial protocols, including EtherCAT, PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, and CANopen. We’ll determine which model is compatible with your controller and whether a function can be implemented within the motor electronics themselves before you place your order—this is the best time to avoid design errors.

This is usually the case when space in the control cabinet is limited, when many axes are distributed throughout the field, or when cabling represents a significant cost factor. If there are only a few axes located close to the control cabinet, the traditional setup may remain the more cost-effective option. We’ll evaluate both options for your specific situation.
