Terms of participation: final exam

These terms apply to taking the final exam of the TEA Academy.

As of 30 September 2026. This version applies to exam tickets issued from this date.

1. Provider

The final exam is offered by Technische Antriebselemente GmbH, Lademannbogen 45, 22339 Hamburg, Germany. Contact: sales@tea-hamburg.de, phone +49 [40] 5388921-11. Further details are in the legal notice.

2. What we offer

We offer an online final exam for the TEA Academy learning path: “Fundamentals of Selecting Drive and Linear Components”. If you pass, you receive a digital certificate whose authenticity can be looked up on a verification page. The learning path is free of charge and is not a prerequisite for the exam.

Company-issued certificate from Technische Antriebselemente GmbH. Not a state-recognised qualification. Unsupervised online exam.

The exam confirms fundamental knowledge. It is not a qualification to design or approve systems or safety functions.

3. No tutoring

The TEA Academy is a self-study offer. There is no personal tutoring and no right to ask questions about the learning content or exam tasks. Our support only helps with technical matters (access, ticket, display) and with payment.

4. How the exam works

  • You receive an exam ticket. It is valid for 12 months from issue.
  • You have 3 attempts. After each attempt there is a 48-hour wait before the next one.
  • The exam has 40 tasks and takes 60 minutes; on request 90 minutes (time extension, no proof needed).
  • You pass with 70 % or more.
  • Allowed aids only: calculator, guides, reference tables, your own notes and artificial intelligence programs. You work on the exam yourself, without help from other people.
  • We do not store your name or e-mail address on the server. Please keep your ticket link safe; without it we cannot send the ticket again.

5. Price and free exams

The first 5 exam tickets are free of charge while this quota lasts. For further tickets a price of €29.99 incl. VAT is planned (as of 30.09.2026). The price shown to you before purchase applies.

6. Age

The exam is only for adults. Before the start you expressly confirm that you are of legal age.

7. Declaration of honour, deception and invalidation

  1. Before the start you declare that you will complete the exam yourself and without help from other people. Only the aids listed in section 4 are allowed. You may also use artificial intelligence programs as aids.
  2. Deception means a breach of the declaration of honour, in particular if another person completes all or part of the exam for you, or if you manipulate or circumvent the exam technology.
  3. We may declare a certificate invalid if we have facts that prove deception. Mere suspicion is not enough; the burden of proof is on us. Where we can reach you, we will first give you the opportunity to comment within 14 days. We will inform you of our decision and the reasons where we can reach you. We do not decide at our discretion.
  4. The invalidation only affects the certificate from the exam in which deception took place. The verification page then shows it as “not valid” without stating a reason. Anyone who informs us of possible deception only learns from us whether the certificate is valid.
  5. If a certificate is declared invalid because of deception, we do not refund the price; the money-back guarantee under section 8 remains unaffected within its period. Your statutory rights remain unaffected.

8. Money back

You can ask for your money back within 14 days of purchase without giving a reason, even if the exam has already been started or completed. A certificate that has been issued becomes invalid on refund. Your statutory rights, in particular the statutory right of withdrawal, remain unaffected. 9. Automated evaluation

The exam is evaluated fully automatically. You may request that a qualified person reviews the evaluation, state your point of view and contest the decision (Art. 22 (3) GDPR). The person checks whether your answers were counted and scored correctly and whether the stored solution of the task you question is correct. If the scoring was wrong, we correct your result. This does not include explaining the learning content or feedback on your learning progress. Please write to sales@tea-hamburg.de within four weeks of the exam and state your exam number and the task you question (module and keyword are enough).

10. Purpose of the content and liability

  1. Learning purpose. The learning path, tasks and final exam teach and test fundamentals for learning purposes. They are not a design, calculation, consultancy or approval for a specific system. Calculations and figures are simplified teaching examples. For the design of a real system, the manufacturer's specifications, the applicable standards and the assessment by a qualified person apply. Safety functions, for example holding brakes or fall protection on vertical axes, are designed and verified on the basis of a risk assessment; the TEA Academy content is not intended for this.
  2. Unlimited liability. We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, under the Product Liability Act and insofar as we have given a guarantee.
  3. Simple negligence. Otherwise, in the case of simple negligence we are only liable for breach of an essential contractual obligation. An obligation is essential if its fulfilment makes the performance of the contract possible in the first place and you may regularly rely on its fulfilment. For the final exam, these are in particular the correct evaluation of your answers and the issue of the certificate after passing. In this case our liability is limited to the damage that was typically foreseeable when the contract was concluded.
  4. Rights in case of defects. Your statutory rights in case of defects of digital products remain unaffected. Claims for damages are governed by the two preceding paragraphs.
  5. The preceding liability provisions also apply in favour of our employees and agents.

11. Changes and availability

We may further develop learning content and exam tasks. Your certificate shows the curriculum version against which your exam was evaluated. Your exam ticket keeps its deadline and its attempts. The service is in its beta phase; interruptions and changes are possible. We keep the verification page available for at least 5 years after a certificate is issued.

12. Data protection

How we process data is described in the privacy policy (section TEA Academy).

13. Applicable law

German law applies. If you are a consumer, this applies only insofar as it does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory provisions of the state in which you have your habitual residence.

14. Dispute resolution

We are neither willing nor obliged to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
