Hermetic Sealing
Hermetic sealing denotes absolute impermeability to gases and liquids. A magnetic coupling with a containment shell achieves it without any moving seal.
Significance in Process Engineering
Because the drive power is transmitted contactlessly through the closed containment-shell wall, there is no shaft penetration and therefore no leakage path. This is decisive for toxic, aggressive, flammable or high-purity media — for example in chemical, pharmaceutical and food technology. Compared with mechanical seals, seal-related wear and the associated leakage risk are eliminated entirely.
